She is the managing partner of Park Legal LLC, an Indianapolis-based law firm that was formed in May 2010, which focuses its practice in the areas of data protection, security and records management.  Ms. Antokol is also the founder of an online training company and a software company.  She assists a wide variety of global and local organizations with many aspects of privacy, security, records management and compliance.  Her services include assisting companies in developing and implementing their data privacy and security programs, handling security breaches, and assisting companies with Safe Harbor certification and other aspects of data transfer compliance. She also assists clients with healthcare and clinical research privacy issues, cardholder data privacy and security issues, employee privacy, vendor management, information security, all aspects of privacy and security training, policies and procedures, risk assessments and implementing privacy and security auditing programs.  For the last decade, her work in the privacy and security area has been based on the <em>Privacy by Design</em> approach, and she has created the <em>PbD</em> framework and implementation measures for a variety of organizations in establishing their privacy and security programs.</p>
<p>Joan is a frequent presenter at privacy conferences in the U.S. and E.U. and has a number of published articles about privacy, security and e-discovery.  Since 2002, she has been a member of the International Working Group on Data Protection and Telecommunications (IWGDPT), which is a data protection regulator group Chaired by Dr. Alexander Dix, the Berlin Data Protection Commissioner.  Joan is also the past chair of the Indiana Security and Privacy Network (InSPN), a privacy and security organization that currently has about 100 local organizations as members.   </p>
<p>Before starting Park Legal LLC and its affiliated companies, Joan spent 17 years in an in-house role for two Fortune 100 pharmaceutical companies, first as senior counsel responsible for Hoffmann-La Roche’s global product liability litigation, and then from 2002 onwards, as the U.S. and then global head of data protection for the Novartis Group.  In that role, Joan created all aspects of, operationalized and managed the global privacy program for the 260 companies in that group, and also assisted the company with other aspects of compliance.</p>

<p>John Villasenor is a nonresident senior fellow in Governance Studies and the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution and a professor of electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research addresses the nature and growing impact of digital information. He has performed fundamental technical research on the systems and methods for information acquisition, processing, storage, and delivery. In addition, he has been at the forefront of examining the resulting social implications, with a particular focus on security and privacy.</p>
<p>Dr. Villasenor has published well over 100 technical articles and has also written for Scientific American, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and the Los Angeles Times. His recent publications at the technology/policy intersection have considered issues including surveillance by authoritarian regimes, wireless access rights, intellectual property, tracking of illicit digital financial transactions, drones, infrastructure security, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. In addition, he has been interviewed by NPR, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Congressional Quarterly, the Christian Science Monitor, Fast Company, and Popular Mechanics.</p>
<p>Dr. Villasenor holds a B.S. degree from the University of Virginia, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.</p>

<p>John Ibbitson, Ottawa bureau chief for the Globe and Mail and winner of the Governor General’s Award for Children’s Literature, has lived numerous writing lives.</p>
<p>He was born in the small Ontario town of Gravenhurst, graduating from the University of Toronto in 1979 with an Honours B.A. in English and from the University of Western Ontario in 1988 with an M.A. in  Journalism.</p>
<p>In a career spanning more than 20 years, Ibbitson worked as a reporter, columnist and Queen’s Park correspondent for Southam papers, before joining the Globe in 1999, where he served as Queen Park’s columnist, Washington bureau chief, Ottawa political affairs correspondent, and Washington columnist and commentator, before returning to Ottawa in 2009 as bureau chief.</p>
<p>Along the way Ibbitson published four works of political analysis: Promised Land: Inside the Mike Harris Revolution (Prentice Hall, 1997); Loyal No More: Ontario’s Struggle for a Separate Destiny (HarperCollins, 2001); The Polite Revolution: Perfecting the Canadian Dream (McClelland and Stewart, 2005) and Open and Shut: Why America has Barack Obama and Canada has Stephen Harper (McClelland and Stewart, 2009). He is also a writer of plays and of novels, including The Landing (Kids Can Press, 2008), which won the 2008 Governor General’s Award for Children’s Literature.</p>
<p>Ibbitson’s writing has also been nominated for the Governor General’s Award, as well as the Donner Prize, the National Newspaper Award, the Trillium Award and the City of Toronto Book Award.</p>
<p>Apart from writing, John Ibbitson’s interests include reading (mostly history and biography) music (mostly classical) and playing poker with reporters.</p>
